- Sister María Nicolasa of the Sacred Heart (La India María) is transfered from Oaxaca to a convent in Mexico City that is plagued with many problems. She sets to work rescuing a band of orphans from bad habits and defending the land where the convent is [located] from the hands of rapacious landowners, with complicated and comic results
